Patrol Craft Fast Swift Boats:
\nPatrol Craft Fast\u00a0(PCF), also known as\u00a0Swift Boats, were all-aluminum, 50-foot (15\u00a0m) long, shallow-draft\u00a0vessels operated by the\u00a0United States Navy, initially to patrol the coastal areas and later for work in the interior waterways as part of the\u00a0brown-water navy\u00a0to interdict Vietcong movement of arms and munitions, transport South Vietnamese forces and insert SEAL teams for\u00a0counterinsurgency\u00a0(COIN) operations during the\u00a0Vietnam War.<\/p>\n
