{"id":2706,"date":"2021-07-15T19:32:22","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T16:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gkabs.net\/?p=2706"},"modified":"2022-03-03T21:39:05","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T21:39:05","slug":"chieftain-mk-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gkabs.net\/index.php\/2021\/07\/15\/chieftain-mk-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Chieftain Mk.5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Started working on the Chieftain Mk.5 Sunday 11th, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The FV4201 Chieftain was the main battle tank of the United Kingdom during the 1960s-1990s.<\/p>\n<p>A development of the Centurion, the Chieftain introduced the supine (reclining) driver position to British design allowing a heavily sloped hull with reduced height. A new powerpack and improved transmission gave it higher speed than the Centurion despite being heavier due to major upgrades to armour protection and the armament: this allowed it to replace both the Conqueror and Centurion while performing their roles effectively.
