Kuwait has extended in-service support for its Eurofighter Typhoon fleet, with Leonardo continuing as the prime contractor.<\/p>\n
Under the new contract, Leonardo Aviation Services, a Kuwaiti company, will provide integrated logistics support and training for both air and ground crews of the Kuwait Air Force\u2019s Eurofighter Typhoons at Salem Al Sabah Base.<\/p>\n
The contract runs through December 2029.<\/p>\n
Services include engineering, maintenance, repair, upgrades, and supply chain management.<\/p>\n
The support provided on-site at Salem Al Sabah Base will help ensure the aircraft operate effectively and meet operational needs.<\/p>\n
The \u201cactivities carried out in Kuwait will \u2026 maximise the high level of capability delivered by the Eurofighter Typhoons to meet the national air defense requirements,\u201d stated Leonardo.<\/p>\n
Most of Kuwait\u2019s 28 Eurofighter Typhoons are now in service, with deliveries having started at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n
The US approved a $397-million arms sale for the fleet in 2022, which included AMRAAM missiles, MK-83 and MK-84 bombs, Joint Direct Attack Munition tail kits, and related guidance components.<\/p>\n
